is pleased to announce the

OTTAWA REGION PLAY THERAPY CERTIFICATION PROGRAM

This program has been initiated in response to the region’s need to improve the accessibility of play therapy interventions for children/youth and families in the Ottawa Region.  It has been created in a unique format which will provide all the core course requirements in a 12 month period (rather than the traditional 3 years).

Eligible professionals attending the program in Pembroke, Ontario will be provided the same quality of education as that offered in the core London, Ontario program.

As an additional feature the Centre of Excellence for Children’s Mental Health will consider providing professional development funds to clinicians approved to attend the course.  The application for this can be downloaded by visiting www.onthepoint.ca.. It is advised that an application for this funding not be completed until there is confirmation of acceptance into the program. 

To receive a full application package either by mail or electronically you can visit the CACPT website at www.cacpt.com or call 1-800-361-3951 (voice mail only).  Please note that the deadline for applications to the program will be NOVEMBER 30, 2008 to allow for CACPT to notify candidates of acceptance prior to the end of December. 

The $100 application fee will be refunded if there is insufficient numbers to carry on the course.  Accepted candidates can Due to the unique format of this program certification students may not blend or mix and match the Pembroke and London programs and participation will be restricted to those living and/or working in the Ottawa Region.
