A Whispered History: The People of Buchanan Township is a virtual oral
history exhibit created by Deep River historian Elizabeth Bond and web
curator Fayiaz Chunara, in partnership with The School House Museum and
        Bright Ideas Software.

The impetus for this project was the broad bank of stories that Gerald
shared with Elizabeth while they collaborated on an archaeological survey
of the former Buchanan Township initiated by Atomic Energy of Canada Limited
at Chalk River during the summers of 2006 and 2007. This research is primarily
based on Gerald’s accounts of the community where he spent his boyhood
        years.

A Whispered History: The People of Buchanan Township hopes to rekindle
an awareness of Buchanan’s rich heritage in order to ensure that
the stories of Buchanan’s longsuffering residents are captured forever.
